Dent, who is a South Charleston, West Virginia native and earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Fairmont State University in 2014, takes over the reins of the Golden Bear program for the 2015-16 season.
Dent comes to Tech from the Fairmont Area Swim Team where he coached for three years, he also coached as a student-assistant at Fairmont, an assistant at Tri County YMCA and was the head coach at the Charleston Family YMCA.
At Fairmont, the former Falcon holds seven school records, earned all-conference accolades in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference (4x) and qualified for the NCAA DII Championships in 2013. Dent also qualified for the 2013 USA Winter Nationals.
David currently resides in Charleston, West Virginia with his fiancé, Emily.
