Freshman Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo has been named a Golden Bear Star Performer for November 19-25.
Ruiz-Berdejo has recorded three double-doubles this season, including two in the past week. In the win over Alice Lloyd College (95-80) Friday, the freshman had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Also during the Baisi Classic, Tech defeated the University of Rio Grande (77-75) with Ruiz-Berdejo contributing 13 points, 11 boards. She was also named to the all-tournament team for the Neal D. Baisi Classic.
In a Tuesday afternoon match-up, the Seville, Spain native marked 12 points while pulling down five boards and blocking two Senator balls.
The daughter of Pedro Ruiz-Berdejo and Rocio Yñiguez is majoring in business management at WVU Tech.
