Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for February 21-27, 2022 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Seniors Whittney Justice and Juvante' Hayes of basketball highlight that week's honors.

Justice, who hails from Danese, West Virginia, poured in 37 points including a perfect 9-for-9 showing at the foul line during the River States Conference Championship where the Golden Bears made it to the semifinals. The senior also pulled down eight boards for the Gold and Blue.

Hayes led the way for the Golden Bears with 54 points which also showed a flawless showing at the bonus strip, 12-for-12. During the River States Conference Championship the Cocoa, Florida native also had seven assists and six rebounds over two games.
