Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 28 - November 3, 2024 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Junior Jose Fernando Perez (men's swimming) and freshman Jay Jones (wrestling) highlight the week's honors.

Fernando Perez, who hails from Trujillo, Peru, produced four first place finishes against Midway University. He touched first in the 50 and 100 Free individually and was first in the 400 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.

A native of Beckley, W.Va., Jones finished sixth at 197 lbs. during the Pepsi Patriot Classic in his collegiate debut. He went 2-2 on the day with a tech fall (18-3) and fall (4:31) in his bout W's.
