Amy Gardner's (Medina, OH) solid performances against a pair of Mid-South Conference teams has earned the junior standout her sixth Student-Athlete of the Week award.  

Gardner was a bright spot for the Golden Bears last Thursday evening against UVA-Wise.  In her thirty-five minutes on the floor, she was able to contribute 22 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in the loss.  Saturday the Medina, Ohio native again led Tech in scoring with 22 points on 7-12 shooting and 9 rebounds in the 85-63 victory over Pikeville.  

Currently, Amy is leading WVU Tech in points per game, averaging 18.5 per game and is connecting on 39.5% of her shot from the field.  She is also the team’s leading rebounder, averaging just over 7 per game and has pulled in 206 so far this season.  

The 5-9 junior also ranks in a number of categories nationally.  Gardner is currently holding down the number 7 spot in NAIA Division I in total scoring (517), the 8th spot in total three-point field goals made (66), the 11th spot in points per game (18.464), and the 15th spot in three-point field goals made per game (2.357).  She also ranks 46th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (5.286) and 50th in total rebounds (206).
