Junior Douglas Negrete has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for November 4-10, 2016.

Negrete led the way for the Golden Bears with a fourth place finish out of 83 competitors with a time of 26:58.3 at the River States Conference (RSC) Championship.

The Chino, California native advanced to the NAIA National Championships and earned a spot on the all-conference first team with his effort Saturday.

Negrete will compete on November 19^that the 60^thAnnual Men's Cross Country National Championships in Elsah, Illinois.
