Sophomore Daniel Lynch has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for March 11-30, 2017.

Lynch's first place finish landed him a NAIA National Outdoor qualifying mark in the men's shot put during the Bobcat Invitational March 24. Lynch's toss of 15.25 meters secures him a spot at the national meet in May which will mark his second national NAIA showing in the shot put. Lynch also threw a massive personal best in the discus, placing third in 41.26 meters.

During the W&L Carnival, the Selah, Washington native also earned the top spot after a 14.41 throw in the shot put.
