Freshman Patricia Fisher has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for August 22-28, 2017.

WVU Tech women's soccer had a thrilling start to the season as they pulled together an overtime comeback win, 3-2, against the University of Pikeville.

The Golden Bears were trailing 2-0 heading into the second half before scores from senior Ruby Bingham, freshman Johanna Ribacke and the golden goal from Fisher gave Tech the victory.

The game-winning goal came off a perfect pass from sophomore Maria Gonzalez which connected with Fisher to finish the game after 95:07. The score marks Fisher's first collegiate goal. The freshman also led the team with seven shots while putting four on frame.
