Freshman Tamon Scruggs has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for December 20, 2017 - January 3, 2018.

Scruggs combined for 40 points in Tech's past two games including a career-high 24 points in the 83-80 victory over No. 18 St. Thomas University. The South Charleston, West Virginia native also pulled down 17 rebounds.

Scruggs is currently (as of January 3) ranked No. 26 in the nation (NAIA DII) with a .587 field goal percentage and No. 49 for 2.643 offensive rebounds per game.
