Tyler Fabian is a native of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (TJHS) in 2009. While at TJHS, Fabian had an outstanding high school soccer career. He lettered in all four seasons for the varsity team, served as team captain for two years, and was named a 3 time All- Section, 2 time All WPIAL, and All-State athlete, along with being named unanimous Conference Player of the Year.
At Tech, Fabian played soccer for Coach Luis Cortell and the Golden Bears from 2011-2014. During his time in Montgomery, West Virginia, he served as a three-year team captain as selected by his teammates, and helped lead the team to the school’s first ever National Championship in 2013. The men’s soccer team enjoyed several achievements during Fabian’s time at Tech, including three consecutive teams who continuously broke the program’s single season record for most wins (’11-’13) and being a USCAA National Finalist in 2012.
Along with being team captain, Fabian earned First Team All-American honors during the 2013 season while setting Tech’s Single Season Assist record. Fabian is also ranked in the top 10 of all applicable statistical records for the men’s soccer program.
During Fabian’s college summers he competed in the Premier Development League (now known as USL League Two) for the West Virginia United (formerly West Virginia Chaos) in 2012 & 2014, and for the Panama City Beach Pirates in 2013. During these summers he helped the Chaos to its most successful season in club history, winning the South Atlantic Division and reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. He also helped the Panama City Beach Pirates reach the post season for its first and only time while being the team’s joint top goals scorer.
Off the field at Tech Fabian was a Resident Assistant for Emily Sands and Mike Sheldon, a peer tutor, staff writer for the Tech Collegian, and performed a work study job for Professor Robert “Bob” Simile in Conley Hall.
After graduating, Fabian went on to play professional soccer for the Philadelphia Fury (NISA) and professional indoor soccer for Harrisburg Heat (MASL). His professional career was highlighted with a draw against La Liga team S.D. Eibar in the 2016 La Liga World Challenge where Fabian competed alongside fellow Tech alumni Craig Mitchell for the Fury.
Fabian continued his education at Delaware Law School where he completed Juris Doctorate in the spring of 2023. Fabian now resides in Denver, Colorado, working as an attorney and holds both a Pennsylvania and Colorado attorney license.
