MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - The WVU Tech women's basketball four-game win streak was snapped Tuesday afternoon in a 74-63 loss to NCAA DII foe Davis & Elkins College in the Baisi Athletic Center. The Golden Bears are now 5-4 in 2014 while the Senators boost their record to 4-1.
Tech was led in the defeat by senior
Nia Nolan, who scored a game-high 24 points on 10-for-24 shooting while also dishing five assists. Freshman
Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo chipped in 12 points and pulled down five rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
Senior
Cierra Mobley recorded a game-high 10 rebounds in addition to eight points. Mobley also grabbed a game-high three steals vs. the Senators. Senior
Noelani Woodson produced seven points and three rebounds for the Golden Bears.
As a team, D&E held advantages over Tech in field goal percentage (41.9 – 35.1), three-point shooting percentage (20.0 – 9.5) and turnovers (20-19). Both teams pulled down 47 rebounds each.
The Golden Bears will continue play on December 3 when they head to Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
