MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - The WVU Tech women's basketball team dropped a home game to The University of Virginia's College at Wise, 80-64, Saturday afternoon at the Baisi Athletic Center. The Golden Bears are now 5-7 this season while the Cavaliers improve to 4-4.
Sophomore
Elizabeth Evans scored 16 points while dishing four assists to lead Tech. Junior
Cheyanne Lusk was the other Golden Bear in double-digits, marking 13 points, two steals and two rebounds.
Senior
Nia Nolan was 4-for-10 from the field, posting nine points and a team-high six assists. Senior
Roche Wimberly pulled down a team-high seven rebounds (five offensive) while producing seven points, she also blocked a game-high two balls.
Tech was outrebounded by UVA-Wise 50-30 but forced 26 turnovers, scoring 25 points on the miscues.
The Gold and Blue shot 25-for-63 (39.7 percent) compared to the Cavaliers who shot 26-for-63 (41.3 percent).
WVU Tech will continue play at the Sheetz Herb Sims Classic hosted by Bluefield State College December 19-20 where they will face Bowie State University and Kentucky State University.
