Women's Soccer Scores 1-0 Victory Over Point Park

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — WVU Tech women's soccer defeated KIAC foe Point Park University in the Game of the Week with a 1-0 victory Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Bears finish the regular season with a record of 12-5, 5-3 (KIAC) and will enter the conference tournament as the No. 4 seed. The Pioneers will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed and 10-6-2, 6-2 (KIAC).

Freshman Caitlin Foster found the back of the net in the 38th minute off the assist from sophomore Ruby Bingham to give the Golden Bears the advantage, 1-0 and the eventual victory. Foster has five goals in 2015 while Bingham has connected for four assists this season.

After 90 minutes of play, Tech held advantage over the Pioneers in shots (13-11) and the edge on corner kicks (6-5).

Sophomore goalkeeper Martha Reyna (6-1) recorded the win, stopping four balls to bring her total to 35 this season.

WVU Tech will next host No. 5 Cincinnati Christian University in the quarter final of the KIAC Championship. The action is scheduled for Saturday, November 7 in South Charleston, West Virginia at the Friends of Coal Field at Trace Fork Soccer Complex at 2 p.m.
