PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — The WVU Tech women's basketball team lost to Shawnee State University 87-55 Saturday afternoon in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Golden Bears are now 2-1 this season while the Bears stay perfect at 3-0.
Tech had two players in double-figures with freshman
Savannah Shamblin posting 12 points as well as five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior
Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo marked 10 points to go with seven boards.
Junior
Courtney Fisher pulled down seven rebounds and scored six points for the Golden Bears while freshman
Breanna Propst had nine points and five rebounds. Junior
LaKisha Adkins recorded eight points, four boards and three assists.
The Golden Bears held advantages over the Bears in second chance points (17-16) and bench points (13-12).
Shawnee State was led by Ashton Lovely who finished with a game-high 22 points.
The team will return to the hardwood Saturday, December 14 when they travel to the University of Pikeville for a 6 p.m. tip off.
