MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — For the second consecutive contest, WVU Tech women's basketball saw a balanced offensive attack while taking a victory for their first conference win this season. The Golden Bears defeated Indiana University Southeast 65-55 in the KIAC Game of the Week Saturday afternoon. Tech is now 5-7, 1-2 (KIAC) in 2015-16 while the Grenadiers hold a record of 4-6, 1-1 (KIAC).

Savannah Shamblin led the way for WVU Tech by going 21-for-60 (35 percent) from the field, good for 55 of Tech's points.
Fisher is currently ranked No. 8 in the NAIA DII averaging 4.417 offensive rebounds per game and continued that momentum by pulling down eight offensive rebounds to go towards her 11 total in the Baisi Athletic Center. Fisher posted her fourth double-double this season with a team-high 15 points.
Propst was a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line while scoring a career-best 14 points. The Saint Albans, West Virginia native also earned a new career-high by stealing seven Grenadier balls while pulling down eight rebounds. Propst had a standout game in Tech's last contest too, marking 12 points and four steals.
Adkins, who is ranked No. 25 in assists per game (3.917), had 14 points and five steals Saturday while Shamblin marked 12 points to go with seven rebounds. Both dished four assists to lead the Gold and Blue.
Freshman guard
Alexandra Combs grabbed 11 boards to go with six steals for two new career-highs. Combs also marked six points and three assists.
The Golden Bears totaled 21 steals for a season-best while forcing 27 Grenadier turnovers. Tech scored 20 points off their opponent's miscues compared to IU Southeast's 17. The team also held advantages over the Grenadiers in second chance points (18-7) and points in the paint (38-22).
Annie Thomas of IU Southeast led the game with 18 points.
Tech will take this two-game winning streak to Huntington, West Virginia Tuesday, December 22 when they face NCAA DI foe Marshall University. Tipoff is scheduled for noon.
