COLUMBIA, South Carolina - WVU Tech women's basketball is enjoying a three-game win streak after an 82-73 victory over Allen University (South Carolina) Thursday evening. The Golden Bears had five players score in double-digits and now boast a winning record of 15-14, the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-23.
Senior
Nia Nolan led the scoring efforts for Tech with 21 points, including a 9-for-10 effort at the free throw line, while recording three steals and assists and six rebounds. Junior
Cheyanne Lusk was just one point short of a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Lusk also had two assists and a block.
Senior
Cierra Mobley was a perfect 4-for-4 at the foul line, producing 17 points and seven rebounds for Tech while blocking two balls and grabbing three steals.
Rounding out the top offensive contributors for the Gold and Blue were seniors
Noelani Woodson and
Roche Wimberly and freshman
Julie Conway with 10 points apiece. Wimberly posted the double-double with 10 rebounds while Woodson finished with three assists and Conway one.
As a team, the Golden Bears went 25-for-69 (36.2 percent) from the field while shooting 27-for-36 (75.0 percent) from the bonus.
Tech will play again Sunday, March 1 when they host Newport News Apprentice School in the Baisi Athletic Center for Senior Day, action set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
