MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — WVU Tech women's basketball dropped a 71-65 decision to KIAC foe Carlow University Sunday afternoon in the Baisi Athletic Center. The Golden Bears (8-13, 3-7 KIAC) were led by freshmen
Savannah Shamblin and
Alexandra Combs who posted 11 points each. The Celtics (9-10, 3-7 KIAC) were paced by Noelle Vallimont with a game-high 16 points.
Shamblin pulled down six rebounds to go with five assists while Combs posted the team's second-best with eight rebounds.
Sophomore
Julie Conway was just one board away from a double-double with ten points and a game-best nine rebounds to mark a new career-high.
Senior
LaKisha Adkins led the way for Tech with six assists and four steals. Adkins went a perfect 2-for-2 at the foul line towards her six points.
Tech was held to 32.9 percent (24-for-73) shooting from the field while their opponent shot 45.8 percent (27-for-59). The team shot 70.6 percent (12-for-17) from the foul line.
The Gold and Blue will next travel to Point Park University Tuesday for a conference game scheduled for 6 p.m.
