BECKLEY, West Virginia -- The WVU Tech women's soccer team suffered their first River States Conference (RSC) loss to Point Park University Thursday evening, 4-2. The Golden Bears are now 7-5-2, 2-1-2 (RSC) in 2016 while the Pioneers hold a record of 5-7-2, 4-2 (RSC).
The first half went scoreless for both teams and the Pioneers struck first, grabbing two goals in minutes 50 and 66. The Golden Bears tied it up with back-to-back goals from senior
Tristen Kilman (71') and junior
Ruby Bingham (73'), both unassisted.
Point Park answered back with two more goals to take the victory, 4-2.
Junior goalkeeper
Martha Reyna (7-5-2) had four saves in 90 minutes of play.
Tech held the advantage in shots (13-11) and corner kicks (4-2).
The Gold and Blue will continue RSC play Saturday when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to face Carlow University at 6 p.m.
