FARMVILLE, Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball earned their sixth consecutive victory, 76-58, over NCAA DI foe Longwood University Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears are now 6-3 in their season while the Lancers hold a record of 1-4.
Sophomore
Zjhane West led the way for Tech with 20 points while fellow classmate
Savannah Shamblin had 18 points in the victory.
Senior
Cheyanna Lusk was two steals away from a triple-double, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals. Junior
Brett Justice had seven points and six boards while senior
Brooke Gee pulled down five rebounds.
The Gold and Blue went 26-for-55 (47.3 percent) from the field while the Lancers were 22-for-77 (28.6 percent). Tech also held advantages in points off turnovers (22-20), points in the paint (28-22) and rebounds (45-43).
Tech will return to the court tomorrow, Sunday when they travel to Newport News Apprentice School for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
