CINCINNATI, Ohio — WVU Tech women's basketball fell to Cincinnati Christian University, 70-62 in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) play to end their 2015-16 campaign Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Bears finish their season 11-17, 6-11 (KIAC) while the Eagles boost their record to 7-21, 4-14 (KIAC).
Senior
LaKisha Adkins led the team with 16 points while recording team-bests with four assists and three steals. Adkins was 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and also pulled down three rebounds in 38 minutes of play. Adkins ends her collegiate basketball career currently ranked No. 23 in the nation (NAIA DII) in total assists (112) and assists per game (4.148).
Sophomore
Brett Justice finished with 12 points and five rebounds while freshman
Savannah Shamblin poured in 11 points to go with four rebounds to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
Senior
Courtney Fisher pulled down a team-high seven rebounds to go with nine points and one steal. Freshman
Alexandra Combs had five rebounds and two points.
For the game, Tech shot 35.6 percent (26-for-73) from the field while holding their opponent to 35.4 percent (23-for-65) shooting.
CCU was paced by Baylee Bennett with a game-high 27 points while LeTisha Caldwell posted a game-best 14 boards.
