BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball remains undefeated, 3-0, in River States Conference (RSC) play after an 88-50 victory over Ohio Christian University Wednesday evening in the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. The Golden Bears move to 8-6 overall while the Trailblazers hold a record of 6-5, 0-2 (RSC).

Tech saw a balanced attack as four Golden Bears hit double-digits in the win including a game-best 18 points from freshman Brittney Justice. Sophomore Laura Requena poured in 14 points while freshman Whittney Justice and senior Zjhane West marked 12 and ten points respectively.

West pulled down a team-high seven boards while Requena and sophomore Carlie Biehl-Wilson had six rebounds each. Junior Savannah Shamblin, this week's RSC Player of the Week, led all players with six assists to go with six points. The team totaled six blocks including two each from Requena and senior Melissa Bakowski.

Tech finished 38-for-77 (49.4 percent) shooting from the floor while holding the Trailblazers to just 21-of-65 (32.3 percent). The Golden Bears also held the advantage in rebounds, 50-36, while forcing 15 turnovers and grabbing eight steals.

The Gold and Blue are currently (as of December 12) tied with University of Rio Grande (12-1, 3-0 RSC) for first place in the East Division of the conference.
