LAST GAME
- Point Park University was unable to hit any key shots down the stretch and wound up losing a River States Conference (RSC) home game to WVU Tech, 85-79, on Saturday afternoon at the CCAC-Allegheny Physical Education Building.
- The Pioneers (5-4, 0-2 RSC) were down nine points, 54-45, midway through the third quarter but battled back to make it basically a one-possession game for most of the fourth quarter.
- Savannah Shamblin, who led all scorers with 30 points for WVU Tech (6-6, 2-0 RSC), drilled her sixth and final 3-pointer of the game for a 75-67 lead with 5:37 left.
- That was the last made basket by the Golden Bears, and they held on.
- Their final 10 points all came from the free-throw line, where they were 10 for 14 down the stretch.
- Shamblin had a big fourth quarter with 12 points to secure the win.

LAST COMPETITION
- WVU Tech wrestling had two Golden Bears place at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational including a team-best fifth place finish from sophomore Leland Swafford during the two-day competition in Grantham, Pennsylvania.
- As a team, Tech finished with 42 points good for tenth out of 14 squads.
- Swafford captured three falls towards his finish at 157 lbs. including a pin at 0:56 over Gettysburg's Noah Struss to kick off the invitational.
- The Beckley, West Virginia defeated Ursinus' Jacob Folk by decision (7-6) in the fifth place match.
- Freshman Logan Robertson earned seventh place at 133 lbs., earning a fall (4:46) in his final bout over Gettysburg's Louie Carusillo.
