LAST TOURNAMENT
  • Had Golden Bears place first and second to win the Fincastle Collegiate Invitational by seven strokes over host school Bluefield State College.
  • Tech carded a team score of 647 (+87) after 36 holes at Fincastle on the Mountain, Mountainous Terrain (Par 70 | 6,714 Yards).
  • Tech and the invite were led by sophomore Callum Langford.
  • The Auckland, New Zealand native finished first with a two-round score of +17 (157).
  • He was eight over the first day, marking the best round overall.
  • Sophomore Makenzie Gaskin shot a +19 (159) to finish in a tie for second place.
  • Gaskin was able to win the tie breaker to earn second outright.
  • Fellow classmate Braden Keown carded a +25 (165) for a seventh place finish overall in the 18-man field while freshman Andres Echeveste followed at eighth with a score of +26 (166).
  • Tech's fifth golfer for Monday and Tuesday was sophomore Drew Hiskins who was 14th overall at 180.
  • The victory was WVU Tech's second title of the season and they have earned second place in the other two tournaments competed in this Spring.

LAST SERIES
  • After a Sunday sweep of (RV) Indiana University Southeast, WVU Tech split the four-game River States Conference (RSC) Games of the Week series, 2-2.
  • Tech (20-22, 13-11 RSC) fell 1-3 and 2-9 Saturday before defeating the Grenadiers (26-9, 15-5 RSC) 6-2 and 5-4 on Sunday at Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley, West Virginia.
  • After another weekend of RSC baseball, WVU Tech is now No. 5 in the conference at six games back.
  • IU Southeast is at No. 3, two games back from Point Park University and Midway University who are tied for the top spot.
  • The series featured a combined two pitching saves and three home runs throughout the weekend from both teams.
  • IU Southeast's sophomore Jack Drew earned his second save of the season on the mound in game one while Tech's junior Dalton Grisell picked up his second save this year in the final contest.
  • The Golden Bears saw long balls from freshman Jacob Reimold and senior Tanner Levine while IU Southeast's senior Logan Barnes knocked a home run in their 9-2 win.

LAST SERIES
  • Split a River States Conference (RSC) doubleheader with Midway University Saturday afternoon at Poca High School.
  • The Golden Bears (11-26, 7-5 RSC) fell in game one 1-6 before a three-run home run from sophomore Skylar Connelly helped propel Tech in the final contest, 4-3, over the Eagles (13-13, 7-3 RSC).
  • Connelly finished the day with three hits towards a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
  • The Ottawa, Illinois native also marked her sixth stolen base of the season in the win.
  • Tech (7-5) is currently No. 4 in the conference standings and is sitting four games back from University of Rio Grande (10-0) in the top spot while Midway (7-3) is tied for second with Point Park University (6-2) at three games back.

LAST MEET
  • The top performer was two-time NAIA All-American freshman Luke Jobson in the 5,000 meter race walk who claimed second place with 22:43.04, a personal best by over one minute.
  • Jobson's time, which is the second best in the nation (NAIA), also earned him his third straight automatic qualifier for the national meet in May.
  • Sophomore Daniel Lynch also continued his recent winning ways, taking top honors in the shot put with a personal best heave of 15.72 meters, which moves him up to eighth in the country (NAIA).
  • Lynch also flung the discus 44.30 meters for a career-best which was good enough for a runner-up finish.
  • Other solid performances were turned in including a seventh place finish by sophomore Seth Greensage in the hammer throw, along with personal bests by freshman Joseph De La Cruz in the 110 meter hurdles and freshman Nicolas Binfield in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
  • The top women's performance was turned in by junior Nikki Aleshire, taking fourth in the 5,000 meter run in 19:22.37 while personal bests were achieved by freshman Jamie Fauver and senior Brooke Gee in the hammer throw.
  • Senior Atiyyah Herron (400 meter dash) and freshman Katie Ervin (800 meter run) also produced career-highs in their respective events.
