OWENSBORO, Kentucky -- WVU Tech women's soccer earned its third shutout of the season, 3-0, at Brescia University in River States Conference (RSC) play Thursday evening. The Gold and Blue boost its record to 4-4, 3-1 (RSC) while the Bearcats move to 2-10, 0-4 (RSC).
In goal, sophomore
Jenna Miller (4-4) made three stops and allowed zero goals after 90 minutes of play. Brescia's keeper, Brooke Stiles, had to make 11 stops in 65 minutes of play while Savaannah Jackson was forced to stop two Golden Bear attempts in 25 minutes.
Senior
Miriam Cortez started the scoring for Tech, posting an unassisted goal in the seventh minute.
The final two goals of the match-up were posted by freshman
Sydney Krakat. The Owings, Maryland native was unassisted in minute 49 and her final score came in the 60
th minute when she connected with Miller who was awarded the assist.
The team will continue conference road play when they head to Cincinnati Christian University tomorrow, Saturday.
