NEW ALBANY, Indiana -- (RV) WVU Tech women's basketball is undefeated (5-0) in River States Conference (RSC) play and is enjoying a season-high six-game winning streak after defeating Indiana University Southeast 82-75 Thursday evening.
The Golden Bears boost their record to 12-6, 5-0 (RSC) while the Grenadiers move to 11-6, 3-2 (RSC).
Sophomore
ShanEttine Butler came off the bench to match her career-high, pouring in 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting. She finished a perfect 3-for-3 from the bonus line and grabbed two steals.
Tech saw double-digits from four other Golden Bears including juniors
Brittney Justice (13) and
Alexandria Gray (12), senior
Logan Dudley (12) and junior
Whittney Justice (10).
Under the boards, W. Justice pulled down a team-high seven rebounds while Dudley and junior
Kathylee Pinnock Branford had six each.
Branford, who recorded eight points and six rebounds, dished a team-best four assists while B. Justice and Gray marked three each.
As a team, Tech finished a very efficient 88.9 percent from the free throw line including a 7-for-7 effort from B. Justice.
The Gold and Blue continue conference play on the road when they travel to Brescia University Saturday, January 11.
