Golden Bear Athletes of the Week | October 19-25

Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 19-25, 2020 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Seniors Lucie Strasser (volleyball) and Nathan Casto (esports) headline this week's honors.

After two matches during the week of October 19-25, Strasser dished out 65 assists for the Gold and Blue. The native of Melk, Austria also picked up 12 digs and put down three block solos and two kills. She has 254 assists this season and averages 6.7 per set to lead the team.

Casto (Fidel_Casto) helped lead the Rocket League squad of esports to two victories in one evening of action. The senior, who hails from Buffalo, West Virginia, totaled 17 goals, including a golden goal, 14 saves and five assists as the Golden Bears defeated Glenville State College (3-0) and Milligan University (3-2).

Volleyball will continue play Friday when they host Ohio Christian University. Rocket League is done for the Fall season but esports still has a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team in action, Friday at 8 p.m.
