RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- No. 24 WVU Tech women's basketball finish the regular 2020 season with 18 straight wins, a flawless 16-0 River States Conference (RSC) record, the RSC regular-season title and an overall record of 24-6 after defeating University of Rio Grande 77-74 Saturday afternoon.
Brittney Justice poured in a game-high 21 points to go with three assists, a steal and a rebound.
Whittney Justice finished 3-for-6 from three-point range towards 19 points. W. Justice also recorded four rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Kathylee Pinnock Branford posted ten points and had six rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Under the boards,
Laura Requena pulled down a team-best seven rebounds to go with six points.
The team finished 27-for-62 (43.5 percent) from the field while the RedStorm shot 29-for-69 (42.0 percent). Tech forced 17 turnovers while grabbing 12 steals.
WVU Tech is No. 1 in the RSC East and will host No. 4 in the RSC West for a quarterfinal of the RSC Championship Wednesday, February 26 in the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
