PHILLIPI, West Virginia -- WVU Tech wrestling opened its 2021-2022 season at NCAA DII Alderson Broaddus University Monday falling 48-3.
The Golden Bears and Battlers had the opportunity to take advantage of a crisp and sunny November day as they grappled outside in Alderson Broaddus Stadium.
Tech's point scorer was
Jacob Thomas at 197 lbs. Thomas earned a 12-11 decision over opponent Ryan Weltz.
The Gold and Blue also saw action from
Chanz Pough (125),
Steven Slack II (141),
Judson McCray (149),
Clay Sinnett (165),
Logan Allen (174) and
Nicholas DaSilva (184), all dropping their bouts by fall.
WVU Tech will return to Alderson Broaddus November 7 for the Battle Royale Tournament.
