MARIETTA, Georgia -- The grapplers of WVU Tech wrestling competed at the Wrestlers in Business Network Life U Open Saturday in Marietta.
Chanz Pough led the Golden Bears, garnering a fifth place showing at 125 lbs. (freshman/sophomore division). The Frederick, Maryland native defeated Cameron Greene (UNC Pembroke) with a technical fall (21-4) and won by decision (10-8) over Lucas Chess (Rio Grande).
At 174 lbs. in the open division,
Isaiha Casto scored six team points with a fall (2:48) over Charlie Galluscio (University of Florida), a decision (5-4) over Mitchell Clark (Keiser) and a fall (4:22) against Agustin Ameigeiras (University of Central Florida).
Another victory recorded for the Gold and Blue was handled by
John Sanders, also at 125 lbs (freshman/sophomore), who defeated Cameron Greene (UNC Pembroke) with a 7-2 decision.
WVU Tech will return to action Saturday, December 4 when they travel to Midway, Kentucky for the River States Conference Duals.
