BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball had a standout team showing as they posted their second consecutive win with a 99-51 decision over Carlow University. The Golden Bears bump their record up to 7-7 while the Celtics move to 2-5.
Eleven players put points on the board, Tech dished 31 assists as a team and the Golden Bears finished 12-for-14 (85.7 percent) from the bonus stripe.Â
The Justice twins,
Brittney Justice and
Whittney Justice, had 21 points each. B. Justice finished with 12 rebounds towards the double-double while W. Justice was 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.
Sophomore
Alyssa Taylor recorded a career-high 14 points to go with six rebounds and three assists.
Senior
Makayla Jones and freshman
Emilee Whitt marked 10 points each. Jones also had five assists, three steals and two rebounds while Whitt had five boards, three assists and three steals.
Senior
Alexandria Gray pulled down nine boards while sophomore
Brianna Ball had seven and freshman
Chelsea Little posted six rebounds. Little also produces a career-best with eight points.
The Gold and Blue will face the Celtics again, traveling to Carlow Saturday, February 13.
