BECKLEY, West Virginia -- The WVU Tech women's soccer squad opened its River States Conference (RSC) schedule with a 2-0 shutout victory over Ohio Christian University Thursday evening. The Golden Bears now hold. record of 3-3, 1-0 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 2-1, 0-1 (RSC).
Ohio Christian suffered an own goal to give Tech the 1-0 advantage early in the game before senior
Brittany Dye posted her fourth goal of the season. The unassisted score came in the 13th minute of the match-up.
Dye, who hails from Princeton, West Virginia, had eight shots on goal while freshman
Angelica Taylor finished with two on frame.
Senior
Jenna Miller tallied six saves and allowed zero goals in 90 minutes while Ohio Christian's keeper, Danica Hanschu, was forced to stop 10 Golden Bear attempts.
Tech will travel to Indiana University Kokomo Saturday to continue conference play at 1 p.m.
