RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech women's soccer earned its first W of the 2022 season with a 2-0 showing at River States Conference (RSC) rival University of Rio Grande Saturday. The Golden Bears are now 1-12-1, 1-4-1 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 3-8-2, 3-2-1 (RSC).

The Gold and Blue's first score came in minute 32 when sophomore Angelica Taylor found the back of the net unassisted.

Fellow sophomore Ana Gay Mesa posted the final goal of the game in minute 48. Also unassisted, Gay Mesa drove the ball over the keeper's head from 18 feet out.

Rio's keeper, Aina Lopez, also played the complete game, allowing two goals and making one save for the loss.
