BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's soccer celebrated it seniors Saturday to finish out the 2022 season. The Golden Bears fell to Indiana University East 5-0 in River States Conference (RSC) play.
The team celebrated Golden Bears
Eugenia Marcelli (Rome, Italy),
Mykah Price (Oak Hill, West Virginia),
Holly Staniforth (Darlington, United Kingdom),
Jodie Pallant (Angmering, West Sussex, United Kingdom) and
Alexis Wells (South Charleston, West Virginia).
During the match-up, the freshman keeper for the Gold and Blue,
Sandra Garcia, made three stops in 77 minutes. Staniforth and (4 mins.) and junior
Bailley Nash (9 mins.) also saw action protecting the net Saturday. Garcia finishes her inaugural collegiate season with a total of 135 saves in 17 games and is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation (NAIA) with that stat.
WVU Tech ends the season 1-16-1 overall and a conference record of 1-8-1.
