BECKLEY, West Virginia --Â WVU Tech women's basketball earned a 97-66 victory over River States Conference (RSC) opponent Point Park University Saturday. The Golden Bears move to 6-2, 2-0 (RSC) this season while the Pioneers hold a record of 3-4, 0-2 (RSC).
All scorers were led by junior
Faith N. Silva who was 4-for-6 from three-point range towards 20 points. Silva also had an assist and a steal.
The Golden Bears produced two double-doubles from junior
Breeana Grigsby who finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds while freshman
Alva Hedrich had 13 points and 10 boards. Grigsby also posted four assists and a steal.
Sophomore
Ca'Vashia Johnson hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue, recording 10 points to go with a game-best seven assists, five rebounds and two steals.
Emilee Whitt, a junior, pulled down seven boards to go with five assists, five points and two steals. Senior
Alyssa Taylor and junior
Valiyah Yazzie finished with nine points each.
WVU Tech will continue conference play when they travel to Ohio Christian University Tuesday, November 22 for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
