WVU Tech dropped an 88-86 decision on a buzzer-beater by No.1E University of Rio Grande in a semifinal of the River States Conference (RSC) Championship Saturday. The Golden Bears, who outscored the RedStorm 52-42 in the second half, finish the season with a record of 16-15 while Rio sits at 29-2.
Four players hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue, including double-double efforts from
Alanis Hill and
Brianna Ball. Hill finished with 26 points, ten assists and seven rebounds while Ball produced 13 boards, 11 points and three blocks.
Brittney Justice hit five from beyond the arc towards 22 points while
Whittney Justice finished 7-for-10 towards 17 points, adding three rebounds each.
Alyssa Taylor also made a difference under the boards, grabbing six rebounds to go with four points.
Elle Baker had six points and two blocks for the Golden Bears.
