CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- WVU Tech women's soccer traveled to Ohio Christian University Thursday to open River States Conference (RSC) play. The Golden Bears (0-8, 0-1 RSC) dropped a 3-0 decision to the Trailblazers (1-5, 1-0 RSC).
The teams held each other scoreless in the first 45 minutes but Ohio Christian rallied back in the final half to net goals from Karissa Buttlewerth (2) and Lizzie Grooms.
Tech saw shots on goal from
Jodie Pallant,
Ana Gay Mesa and
Stheisy Lemus.
Sandra Garcia made six saves in the complete game while the Trailblazers' keeper, Danica Hanschu, posted three saves in the shutout victory.
The Gold and Blue will move back into non-conference action for a contest Saturday when they host University of Maine at Fort Kent for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
