Golden Bears roll to win at IU Southeast

Women's Basketball

NEW ALBANY, Indiana -- WVU Tech women's basketball earned another River States Conference (RSC) victory with a 91-97 decision at Indiana University Southeast Saturday. The Golden Bears boost their record to 14-9, 7-5 (RSC) while the Grenadiers move to 13-8, 6-6 (RSC).

Freshman Alva Hedrich picked up her seventh double-double of the season with 23 points and 15 rebounds including a perfect 7-for-7 effort at the bonus line. Hedrich also posted two blocks and two assists.

Junior Faith N. Silva was 4-for-6 from downtown towards 20 points to go with five boards and a block.

Fellow junior Janaya Berry came off the bench to put down 20 points while also finishing perfect at the foul line at 6-for-6. Berry also had three assists, two rebounds and a block.

Valiyah Yazzie, also a junior, recorded 17 points including three three's while freshman Rylee Allie had 13 points to round out the top offensive contributors.

As a team, the Gold and Blue finished 22-for-24 (91.7 percent) from the foul line while holding an edge under the boards, 41-37 (rebounds).
