BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech women's basketball dropped a close 73-71 decision to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Wednesday evening in the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 2-3 while the Eagles move to 1-3 this season.
Sophomore
Rylee Allie (Huntington, W.Va.) led all scorers with 21 points including an 11-for-12 effort from the foul line. Allie also had three assists, three rebounds, a steal and a block.
Under the boards, sophomore
Alexis Sexton (Lexington, S.C.) led the Gold and Blue with six rebounds while pouring in 18 points. Sexton added three steals and two assists.
Fellow classmate
Alva Hedrich (Muecke, Hessen, Germany) also hit double-digits with 14 points to go with four assists, three boards and a block.
Junior
Leonor Ferreira (Matosinhos, Portugal) finished with six points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Golden Bears will host again Tuesday, November 21 when University Rio Grande travels to Beckley for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. The game will open up both teams River States Conference season.
