Golden Bears finish season at No. 2 (W) Oakland City

Women's Basketball

Oakland City, Indiana -- No. 3 (East) WVU Tech fell to No. 2 (West) Oakland City University 101-72 in a quarterfinal of the River States Conference Championship to end their 2022-2023 campaign.

Faith N. Silva hit five three's towards a game-best 23 points to go with three rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Ca'Vashia Johnson came in off the bench to pour in 17 points. Johnson also had six boards, one assist and a steal.

Alyssa Taylor also hit double-digits for the Gold and Blue, posting 10 points, four rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Alva Hedrich pulled down nine rebounds to go with four points, four blocks and an assist.

Tech was 22-for-62 (35.5 percent) from the floor and finished with 38 rebounds. The Mighty Oaks shot 41-for-81 (50.6 percent) and had 47 rebounds.

The Golden Bears finish the season 16-13 overall and with a 9-8 record in conference play.
