RALEIGH, N.C. -- WVU Tech women's soccer dropped a 4-2 decision at NCAA DII Shaw University Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears are now 0-4 while the Bears move to 2-0.
Freshmen
Korinne Potter (Woodbridge, Va.) andÂ
Maddie Lott (Fairmont, W.Va.) both recorded their first collegiate goals Saturday. Potter found the back of the net first for the Gold and Blue off an assist from fellow freshman
Carson Barr (New Manchester, W.Va.) in minute 52. Lott moved the ball past the Shaw keeper, Paige Ellis, in the 72nd minute with assistance from Potter.
In goal, Tech sophomore keeper
Sandra Garcia Quilez (Zaragoza, Spain) made 11 stops while allowing four goals in 90 minutes.
The Golden Bears will next travel to Bluefield State University Wednesday, September 6 in Bluefield, W.Va.
