OAKLAND CITY, Ind. -- WVU Tech women's basketball suffered an 86-65 River States Conference (RSC) loss at Oakland City University Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 4-10, 1-3 (RSC) while the Mighty Oaks move to 9-5, 5-0 (RSC).
Tech held the Mighty Oaks to just 38.5 percent (30-for-78) shooting from the field while finishing 42.6 percent (29-for-68) themselves. Oakland City held the edge under the boards, 53-40.
Sophomore
Alva Hedrich (Muecke, Hessen, Germany) produced a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds while adding seven assists, five blocks and a steal.
Fellow classmate
Alexis Sexton (Lexington, S.C.) recorded 15 points, six boards, three assists and two steals.
Freshman
Emily Sharkey (Morgantown, W.Va.) came off the bench to hit double-digits with 12 points while grabbing two rebounds.
The Golden Bears will continue conference play in Indiana this Monday when they travel to Indiana University East for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
