WVU Tech continues NECC play against SVSU

BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech Rocket League continued NECC Division IV Mideast B play Wednesday night inside the Golden Bear Esports Lab, falling in a competitive 4–0 series to Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU Esports Red).

The Golden Bears — Jayden Rouse (Jaro), Waleed Alghamdi (FARGO), and Brayden Hanshew (Mune) — showed sharp passing and composure under pressure throughout the match under head coach Brad Davis.

Rocket League is a 3v3 title combining soccer-style gameplay with rocket-powered vehicles. Collegiate series are best-of-seven matches, with teams earning points through goals, assists, saves, and shots on goal.


Program History – Rocket League

Since debuting in 2020–21, WVU Tech Rocket League has grown into a consistent national contender. Under head coach Brad Davis, the Golden Bears captured the 2024–25 NECC Fall Championship and earned their first national tournament appearance in Spring 2025.
