BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech League of Legends suffered its first loss of the 2025–26 season Thursday night, falling to Arkansas State 2–0 in a best-of-three NECC East B DVII series from the Golden Bear Esports Lab. The setback puts the Golden Bears at 3–1 overall and 1–1 in NECC East B DVII.
Game One
The Golden Bears battled through a nearly 40-minute opener, pushing Arkansas State deep into the late game before ultimately falling 36–29. Anthony Biley (Almightyfoot) led the team with a 10/7/10 line on Garen, while Benjamin Lowe (Bean) posted 7/9/12 on Vi. Anthony Pompie (WitchDoctor133) made his season debut in the midlane with 3/6/13 as Malzahar, Patrick Hilbert (Hilbert) added 5/8/12 as Nilah, and Triston Stover (breathless lol) anchored teamfights with 19 assists as Swain.

Game Two
Arkansas State sealed the series with a 28–15 win in Game Two. Biley worked the frontline as Sett (4/7/5), Lowe shifted to Elise (3/8/7), Pompie controlled space with Aurelion Sol (4/3/5), Hilbert chipped in on Yunara (1/3/2), and Stover rounded out the lineup with 3/7/8 as Malphite.
