KOKOMO, Ind. — WVU Tech women's soccer delivered its most complete performance of the postseason Saturday night, shutting out No. 2 Indiana University Kokomo 3–0 at Municipal Stadium to advance to the 2025 River States Conference Championship.
The third-seeded Golden Bears (12-4-3 overall) avenged an earlier regular-season loss to the Cougars and extended their unbeaten streak to five, earning a place in Wednesday's title match at top-seeded Oakland City.
Match Summary
Junior midfielder Korinne Potter converted a penalty kick in the 43rd minute to give Tech a 1–0 lead heading into halftime, then doubled the advantage just four minutes into the second half with her second goal of the night.
Senior midfielder Sofia Filgueira added the exclamation point in the 90th minute, curling home a late strike to seal the upset.
Tech controlled the run of play from start to finish, outshooting IU Kokomo 26–5 and generating 17 shots on goal. The Golden Bears held the Cougars without a single shot on target until the 74th minute and limited the hosts to just two total on frame.
