November 24-30, 2025

The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Nov. 24–30, 2025. This week’s honors go to senior Alexis Sexton (basketball) and freshman Neda Vaicaite (swimming) who delivered standout performances on the hardwood and in the pool.

Alexis Sexton (Lexington, S.C.)

Sexton delivered one of the most complete performances of her WVU Tech career, pouring in a career-high 32 points in the Golden Bears’ 84–79 road win at Alice Lloyd. The senior guard shot a remarkable 12-of-15 from the field, went 3-of-3 from three, and added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and three drawn charges while playing a team-high 36 minutes. Sexton continues to rank among the River States Conference top scorers, averaging 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game through the end of November.

Neda Vaicaite (Šilainiai, Lithuania)

Vaicaite produced a breakout performance at the King Invite, sweeping WVU Tech’s women’s backstroke events with three personal bests and two NAIA B-cuts. The freshman won the 200 back in 2:11.62 (PB, B-cut), finished second in the 100 back in 1:01.04 (PB, B-cut), and placed sixth in the 50 free at 24.94 (PB). Vaicaite currently ranks first in the NAIA among Lithuanian collegiate swimmers for the 2025–26 season and is seventh nationally among all Lithuanian women in short-course yards.
