WVU Tech men's golf opened its 2025 fall campaign at the UNOH Invitational, finishing fourth overall in a competitive five-team field with a team total of 909 (+45). The Golden Bears showed consistency across three rounds, carding 304, 303Â and 302 as a team.
Individually, WVU Tech placed three golfers inside the top 20:
- Roberto Peiró Llobell and Sean Cooper both tied for 11th place at +9 (225). Peiró fired a steady 72-78-75, while Cooper strung together three straight 75s for one of the most consistent scorecards in the field.
- Mathias Maldonado followed close behind, tying for 16th at +12 (228), highlighted by a strong closing round 74.
- Gage Garvin finished 19th with 234 (+18), bouncing back after his opening round with solid rounds of 75 and 78.
- Alvaro Iglesias Pascual tied for 20th at +20 (236), improving his play in the final two rounds.
- Valentín Jiménez Núñez rounded out the lineup in a tie for 27th at +34 (250).
The host, Northwest Ohio, claimed the team title at 847 (-17), followed by their "B" team (+19, 883) and Madonna (+34, 898). WVU Tech's finish at +45 (909) placed them just 11 strokes behind Madonna for third.
The Golden Bears will return to action September 8-9 when they travel for the ALC Fall Invitational in Kentucky.
