BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech esports continued its Marvel Rivals NECC East A Division VI campaign Tuesday night, falling in a 3–0 result against Bowling Green State University inside the Golden Bear Esports Lab.
The Golden Bears saw senior Dakota P. Dietz (NinjaRemover) of Ridgeley, W.Va., claim SVP honors in Games One and Three, while freshman Wyatt Plumley (Plum_) of Beaver, W.Va., earned the distinction in Game Two.
Game One – Krakoa (Domination)
Bowling Green opened strong with a 2–0 win. Dietz (Emma Frost) earned SVP honors with 14 kills, six assists, and more than 25,000 damage blocked. Freshman Jordan Green (JordanNextDoor) of Beckley, W.Va. (Ultron/Doctor Strange) followed with 15 kills and nine assists, while Plum_ (Cloak & Dagger) contributed 10 kills, eight assists, and nearly 17,000 healing. Junior Ty Bock (BockShiesty) of Wheeling, W.Va. (Venom/Magneto) tallied 11 kills, freshman Tyler Vines (Typoint-5) of Daniels, W.Va. (Moon Knight) added 11 kills, and junior Silas Eads (R3D Mystix) of Oak Hill, W.Va. (Rocket Raccoon) rounded out the lineup.
Game Two – Hall of Djalia (Convergence)
In a close 14-minute battle, Bowling Green pulled away 3–0. Plum_ (Winter Soldier/Iron Man) earned SVP honors with 22 eliminations, six solo kills, and over 23,000 damage dealt. Dietz (Cloak & Dagger/Invisible Woman) provided balance with 12 kills and 14 assists. Bock (Emma Frost/Ultron) and Vines (The Punisher/Human Torch) each chipped in 15 kills, while Green (Loki/Ultron/Doctor Strange) added 12 kills and 11 assists. Eads (Magneto) contributed five kills and five assists.
Game Three – Yggdrasill Path (Convoy)
Bowling Green secured the sweep with a 3–0 finish. Dietz (Invisible Woman) earned SVP honors behind five assists, steady healing, and frontline support. Bock (Emma Frost/Doctor Strange) paced Tech's damage with 17 kills, while Green (Namor/Loki) added 21 eliminations. Plum_ (Cloak & Dagger/Mantis) notched six assists and over 17,000 healing, Vines (The Punisher/Hawkeye) added four kills, and Eads (Jeff the Land Shark/Scarlet Witch) chipped in five kills and five assists.

Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 third-person hero shooter featuring competitive modes like Convergence, Convoy, and Domination.
Heroes fall into three roles:
- Vanguards — tanks with large health pools (Venom, Emma Frost).
- Duelists — high-damage fighters (Iron Man, Hawkeye).
- Strategists — support and utility heroes (Cloak & Dagger, Invisible Woman).
Unique to Rivals are team-up abilities, where certain hero pairs unlock bonus powers — such as Hulk launching Wolverine into combat.
