WVU Tech LoL goes 4-0 in pair of sweeps

BECKLEY, W.Va. - WVU Tech League of Legends picked up two NECC Division VI (East B) sweeps over the last week, earning 2-0 wins against Widener University (Feb. 7) and Mercyhurst University (Feb. 12).

The Golden Bears were led by the five-player unit of:

Dakota P. Dietz (Ninjaremover)
Anthony Biley (Almightyfoot1221)
Benjamin Lowe (bean)
Patrick Hilbert (Hilbert)
Triston Stover (breathless lol)

Feb. 7 - WVU Tech 2, Widener 0

Game 1 - WVU Tech 40, Widener 39

WVU Tech opened the night by surviving a back-and-forth, high-action first game, edging Widener 40-39 behind steady damage output and strong late-game teamfights.

Game 2 - WVU Tech 38, Widener 20

The Golden Bears responded with a dominant second game, cutting down mistakes and controlling the pace to close the sweep with a 38-20 win.

Feb. 12 - WVU Tech 2, Mercyhurst 0

Game 1 - WVU Tech 35, Mercyhurst 10

Tech set the tone early in the opener, building a sizable advantage and finishing the first map with a 35-10 win. The Golden Bears generated 72 total assists and kept pressure on Mercyhurst across the map.

Game 2 - WVU Tech 31, Mercyhurst 16

Mercyhurst pushed back in Game 2, but WVU Tech stayed composed and closed out the sweep with a 31-16 victory. Hilbert and breathless lol paced the finish as the Golden Bears won key fights in the mid-to-late game.
