Marvel Rivals takes 3–2 victory over Kettering

BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech Marvel Rivals outlasted Kettering University in a five-map battle Tuesday night inside the Golden Bear Esports Lab, rallying from an early deficit to earn a 3-2 NECC win.

After dropping the opener, the Golden Bears responded with wins in Games Two and Four, then closed the match with a decisive Game Five performance to secure the victory.

🕹 Game One (L) – Domination
Kettering struck first, taking the opening map despite a strong front-line effort from Ty Bock (BockShiesty), who earned SVP honors for WVU Tech with 25 eliminations, 10 final hits, 25,320 damage and 41,951 damage blocked.

Dakota P. Dietz (NinjaRemover) added 24 eliminations with 55,292 damage blocked, while Jordan Green (JrdnNextDoor) contributed 21 eliminations and 9,630 healing.

🕹 Game Two (W) – Convergence
WVU Tech evened the match behind BockShiesty, who secured MVP honors with 33 eliminations, 18 final hits, 30,115 damage and 42,826 damage blocked.

Tyler Vines (Typoint5) posted 38 eliminations, and NinjaRemover followed with 35 eliminations and 41,292 damage blocked as the Golden Bears tied the series 1-1.

🕹 Game Three (L) – Convoy
Kettering regained the lead in Game Three, but NinjaRemover kept WVU Tech within reach and earned SVP honors with 16 eliminations, 4 final hits, 15,584 damage, 16,599 damage blocked and 7,944 healing.

BockShiesty added 18 eliminations, and Noah Tucker (bizzy.biyombo) chipped in 14 eliminations with 9,374 healing.

🕹 Game Four (W) – Domination
The Golden Bears forced a deciding map with a balanced team performance led by bizzy.biyombo, who earned MVP honors with 25 eliminations, 13 final hits and 11,069 healing.

Jordan Green (JrdnNextDoor) and Wyatt Plumley (Plum_) each recorded 26 eliminations as WVU Tech tied the match 2-2.

🕹 Game Five (W) – Convergence
WVU Tech finished the night strong to claim the match, powered by Plum_, who earned MVP honors with a match-high 49 eliminations, 23 final hits, and 31,795 damage.
NinjaRemover added 38 eliminations, while JrdnNextDoor posted 35 eliminations with 15,853 healing to help close out the 3-2 win.
