BECKLEY, W.Va. - WVU Tech League of Legends earned a 2-1 victory over Loyola University Maryland Thursday night inside the Golden Bear Esports Lab. The win served as a measure of redemption for the Golden Bears, as Loyola was the team that eliminated Tech last fall in the NECC Division VII East Semifinal.

Loyola opened the series with a strong showing in Game 1, building a large advantage in kills and objectives to take the opener.
Game 1 - Loyola 41, WVU Tech 18
Patrick Hilbert led the Golden Bears offensively with nine kills in the first map, while Triston Stover added five kills and Benjamin Lowe contributed 12 assists.
